GOLZINHOS | HAVAIANAS & NETFLIX
Havaianas flip-flops were born in 1962. At the same time, Havaianas “mini goals”
were created. This improvisation made soccer accessible to everyone and helped create a uniquely Brazilian style of play. After that, in 1970, Brazil won the World Cup, and then another, and another, becoming the only country to have won the World Cup five times. Was that a coincidence? We don’t think so. When Netflix decided to make a series telling the story of the 1970 World Cup, we decided to blend these two stories to create a theory about the origins of the Brazilian style of play.
This project was only made possible by the wonderful creative partnership
between Netflix, Galeria, Stink Films, and Totttal.
